Short answers about what PipeKeel does, where your data goes and what it costs. Something missing? Write to [email protected].
What is PipeKeel?
PipeKeel is a visual data pipeline tool for teams on Google Cloud. You build pipelines on a canvas from sources, transforms and targets; PipeKeel writes the SQL and runs it — in your own Google Cloud project (Sovereign) or fully managed by PipeKeel (Express). It also runs workflows, schedules, streams and alerts.
Is PipeKeel in beta?
Yes. PipeKeel runs real pipelines for its users today, and it is in beta: features may still change and you may meet the occasional rough edge. Tell us at [email protected] — the Terms of Service describe what the beta means for you.
Who is PipeKeel for?
Small and mid-sized businesses and data teams that want reliable reporting and data movement without writing and maintaining pipeline code — for example online stores combining Shopify or WooCommerce orders with ads and accounting data in BigQuery or Google Sheets.
Does my data leave my Google Cloud project?
Not with Sovereign pipelines: they run as BigQuery jobs in your project, as a service account you control, and PipeKeel only sends the SQL and reads job status. Sources outside BigQuery are moved by a Runner that also runs in your project. Express pipelines run on PipeKeel's infrastructure in your organization's region (United States, Canada or India).
What is the difference between Sovereign and Express?
Sovereign runs in your Google Cloud project and bills BigQuery to you; Express needs no cloud setup — PipeKeel runs it on DuckDB or BigQuery and you pay in credits included in every plan. The canvas, blocks, schedules and alerts are the same in both.
Which sources and targets does PipeKeel support?
BigQuery, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Cloud Storage, SFTP, files over HTTPS, Google Sheets, REST APIs (JSON, XML, CSV), Shopify, WooCommerce, Google Pub/Sub and Apache Kafka as sources; BigQuery, the databases, Google Sheets, PipeKeel Managed Storage, REST APIs, Pub/Sub, Kafka, Shopify (tags) and WooCommerce (updates) as targets.
Can PipeKeel connect Shopify to BigQuery?
Yes. The Shopify source reads orders, order line items, customers, products and variants as analysis-ready tables (money as decimals, times in UTC), incrementally if you like, into BigQuery, Google Sheets or PipeKeel storage. Templates build daily sales, product performance, customer value (RFM) and low-stock tables, and can tag VIP customers back in Shopify.
Can PipeKeel connect WooCommerce to BigQuery or Google Sheets?
Yes. Connect with a WooCommerce REST API key; PipeKeel reads orders, line items, customers, products and coupons, and can send stock, price or status updates back. The same e-commerce templates work for WooCommerce.
Does PipeKeel support real-time streaming?
Yes. Pub/Sub can stream into BigQuery in real time through BigQuery subscriptions in your project, with filters, derived columns and masking applied to every message; Kafka streams in real time through a stream worker. Both can also run as micro-batches every few minutes, where every block — joins and aggregates included — is available.
Do I need to write SQL?
No. Every block — filter, join, aggregate, pivot, window, deduplicate, merge, SCD2 and more — is configured in a form, and expressions use familiar BigQuery syntax with a helper. You can see the exact SQL PipeKeel generates, and add custom SQL when you want to.
How much does PipeKeel cost?
There is a free plan, and paid plans from $49 or ₹1,999 a month (annual plans cost ten months). Every new organization gets a 14-day trial of the Team plan without a credit card. Sovereign pipelines' BigQuery costs are on your own Google Cloud bill.
How does PipeKeel keep credentials safe?
Credentials are stored in Google Secret Manager; PipeKeel's API can save them but never read them back, and only the component running a task can read the secrets that task needs. You can also keep credentials in your own Secret Manager.
Can I schedule pipelines and get alerts?
Yes — schedules with time zones, webhooks, runs after other pipelines, and workflows that chain pipelines, HTTP calls, SQL scripts, emails and Slack messages with conditions. Alerts go to email, Slack or webhooks.
Does PipeKeel support incremental loads, merge and SCD type 2?
Yes. Sources can read only new or changed rows by a cursor column, and BigQuery and database targets can append, overwrite, merge (upsert) or keep full history as slowly changing dimensions type 2.
Where is my data processed?
Sovereign pipelines: in your Google Cloud project and region. Express pipelines: in your organization's home region — United States, Canada or India. Account and configuration data is stored in the United States.
Is PipeKeel an alternative to Fivetran, Airbyte or dbt?
PipeKeel covers moving data (like Fivetran or Airbyte) and transforming it (like dbt) in one visual tool, with scheduling, streaming and alerts — aimed at teams that prefer configuring pipelines to maintaining code, and that want pipelines to run inside their own Google Cloud.
